In 2016, I released my first "solo" record, Lemons and Bananas. The package artwork was masterfully imagined by Ro. She drew wonderfully creative and insightful images inspired by my music and lyrics. As an idea for composition, I thought that I would write a song inspired by one of her pieces. She has a line drawing of a sleeping girl with demon like creatures floating in her subconscious brainwaves, entitled, Let Me Sleep.
I imagined limitless journeys through conscious and unconscious worlds unfettered by expectation. Places you go where all is agreeable and flowing on shared waves. Being able to move past the physical form and petty human differences of the modern unconnected world and tapping into something more.
So.....there you go.
Enjoy! and turn it up.
lyrics
Let Me Sleep
Verse
Endlessly you fly through the liquid sky
Seeing all to see
Fearlessly you cry, there's no judging eye
Feeling all to feel
Chorus
Let Me Sleep, Let Me Sleep
Sharing secrets not to keep
Let me sleep so I can reap
And sow the fabric of my Dreams
Verse
Peacefully you play 'cross the Milky Way
Frolic in the fray
Easily you flow where the River goes
Needing none to need
Chorus
Instrumental
Verse
Totally you ride selfless Love abide,
Coming all complete
Totally you ride selfless Love abide
Coming All Complete
Chorus
